The Z formula to change the Z values for newbase is

Z= Zpu [V^2ll oldbase / V^2 ll new base] [stotal New base/Stotal Old base)

Book show

Zpu = .07 OK

Stotal old = 20MVA OK

Stotal new = 15MVA OK

Now i think that the Vbaseold = Vbasenew = 15kV because I have to assume that the Generator base Voltage value is 15KV same as Primary of the base voltage value of the transformer =15KV If the problem show the voltage value of the generator to 10KV now thats other story. Answer shall be .05 PU B

Wildisoldier,

You are correct. The question should have stated: "...if the transformer's HIGH-SIDE rated values"

An errata for this question will be coming out via email on 9/28. The only alteration to the question will be adding "high-side" as indicated. I wanted to force you to do the full impedance conversion practice for this problem, but you found a loophole and were to make the problem easier than I had intended. :)

Thanks Wildi,

Josh
