Complex Imaginary Test 4 Problem 80

Isn't the correct answer actually A? B is close, but from eye-balling it or measuring it B's gate current comes a little to late.

Complex Imaginary Test 4 Problem 51

http://i220.photobucket.com/albums/dd138/greg256/File0001-1.jpg Shouldn't the answer be zero? The answer they gave (A) is for the full-wave rectified.

Complex Imaginary Test 3 Problem 38

Isn't the circuit output a Half-wave rectified Sin wave? Therefore the average voltage would be Vpeak/Pi?

    NCEES Power problem 104

I agree that the answer to this question is the AWG 4 conductor. But since the circuit is at less than 100amps and according to NEC Section 110.14C1, shouldn't the left-most column for 60 deg C be used? In this particular problem with the current 66.7A, the 60 and 75 deg C columns both say to...

Complex Imaginary Test 1 Problem 70

CI's solution says that Vab is the same as the line-line voltage of the AC source. And the answer is 125V*sqrt(3)=217V choose (D). I disagree. It is asking for the PEAK VOLTAGE, which is never greater the 125V*sqrt(2) = 177 V. Thanks.

Complex Imaginary Test 1 Problem 4

The problem states: A code "Design C" type maximum locked-rotor current for a 3-phase squirrel-cage induction motor rated 15hp, 230V is? I used T430.7B to get 150A. The solution used Table430.251B (for Selection of Disconnecting Means) to get 232A. Isn't my solution the correct answer to the...

Complex Imaginary Test 3 Problem 57

re: Complex Imaginary Test 3 Problem 57 This is a power correction problem on a 3-phase system. It states: "The rated voltage of the motor is 230V and the full-load current is 60A". The book's solution has: P=sqrt(3)(230)(60) But isn't this S ? Thanks

Peak Voltage from 3-phase generator to one dc motor

This is from Complex Imaginary Test#1 problem 70. It has a 3-phase generator with each phase of 125V half-wave rectified and connected to the input of one dc motor. It asks what is the peak voltage across the dc motor input? They answer given is 125*1.73=217V. I don't think this answer is...

Disagree with answer to simple Transformer problem

This is from sample college test. I disagree this answer but agree with the all the other problems answers. I see the problem as the load across the secondary being 600 ohms. The secondary voltage would be 600V and current 1 A. And the circuit in the primary being 5 Amps, answer B. Q.33 A...
