2 Questions to people who have passed. 1. How much time did you have left? 2. How many problems did you have an example of?

Generally on all my practice exams and the actual exam, I was mostly done with an hour remaining. During the last hour I would be scouring through my reference books for 4-5 very difficult questions. I'd then spend about 3 mins making sure I'd transferred all my answers to my scantron correctly...

Spin Up test question, open-delta Transformer

Wildi is right but you are thinking about this wrong. This is an open delta with two transformers each at 50kVA. You added those up to get a total of 100kVA and after seeing the answer of 86.6kVA assumed the total output should be 86.6%. The 58% number which would be the correct answer for your...

ADVICE PLEASE What order do you suggest me take these practice test?

NCEES was the first practice exam I took and I was able to pass it after completing Zach's online course. Do some reading on the CI exams, I haven't done them but I hear they are a little outdated and the Crams are a more accurate reflection of the actual exam.

ADVICE PLEASE What order do you suggest me take these practice test?

My Advice is to do the following order: 1. NCEES - Absolute closest to the real exam and I think it should be the first one you take so you know what you're in for 2. Zach's Test - He has a good diagnostic tool so you can see where you're at and what you need to focus on more. It is one of the...

    PE review course comparison

I also used Zach's course to pass this October on my first attempt and can't recommend it enough. I started studying 100 days before the exam and used the free trial on Zach's site first and then decided I'd pay for it. I really believe that I probably wouldn't have passed if I didn't use a...

First Time Pass - What I did - Other Passers Please Contribute!!

Practice exams are definitely geared more towards solving problems than the theory questions. I was lucky to pass having done so many practice problems but not a whole lot of theory study. Theory is really hard to prepare for too, reading the reference materials helps some but I was stumbling...

    October 2019 P.E. ELECTRICAL POWER

I feel like these go hand in hand. I know of countless questions during practice exams and even on the actual exam where I was rushing and got an answer that matches an answer choice so I bubbled it and moved on. But then I realized later that I fell for a trap question and didn't multiply by...

    Oct 2019 - Failing scores

I did and it took up two 3" binders. I used it for about 70-80% of non code questions. Then I did my code questions, and finally pulled out my other references to finish everything else. Zach doesn't have every formula ever in his materials but has the most relevant ones in there that you will...

    Oct 2019 - Failing scores

I passed this cycle while attempting every problem and didn't guess on any questions without eliminating at least 1 answer choice first. I took Zach Stone's course and followed his advice for studying. One of the things that was recommended to us was to take as many practice exams as you can. I...

    Oct 2019 - Failing scores

I think a 50/80 is the lowest possible passing score so far. I think we had a 49/50 failing score here already. As more results come out and people post that number may go up some

    October 2019 P.E. ELECTRICAL POWER

He has online modules for each major subject based on the Exam spec that you complete at your own pace, and also he does I think 11 4 hour live classes, once a week, leading up to the exam. Each module for the online course has multiple sections. In each section he has a bunch of 5-10 minute...

    October 2019 P.E. ELECTRICAL POWER

Passed in NC. I took Zach Stone's course and studied for around 350 hours including 5 full length practice exams. The whole time I was wondering if I was overstudying and wasting my time but I can say now I don't regret it one bit and recommend everyone do the same. For anyone thinking of taking...

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

The difference as I understand it those years is there was no subject in need of a cut score meeting. Oct '14 is the year that most resembles this year with the exam dates, thanksgiving, and it also had a cut score meeting. Those results came out on day 52. However we have no word if the...

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

We have not heard any information on if it happened or not. Someone had messaged NCEES live chat a week ago asking about it and they were told no. However it did not seem like the live chat was really understanding what was being asked

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Here's the content I'm here for, conspiracies to give us hope each day and then be crushed again at 5pm when there are still no results. Do you know the exact date this was added to their schedule and released to the public? If it was recent maybe they know something. If it's been scheduled for...

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

Quoting this from way earlier, seems like this prediction was accurate. Out of curiosity, what made the OCT 14 release such a crapstorm?

October 2019 Post Exam Wait Period - Welcome to the Suck

I took the Power exam and have had the following scenario play out multiple times since the exam and every time it gives me a mini heart attack. I check my email and I have a new email with subject "NFPA - Your NEC Source", advertising the references needed for the Power exam. That subject is...
