    Appendix B - Engineer's Statement

I've been hunting for the correct verbage used on most electrical title sheets in North Carolina, under the Appendix B section. I've seen it on numerous jobs in the past but can't seem to find a copy. It's basically a designers statement that the engineer has to sign and date (underneath the...

    277V Rated / 240V Provided

Question of the day: will a lighting unit (e.g. an exit sign) that is rated for dual voltage 120/277 work properly on a circuit that is 240V single phase? Good luck!

Anyone have experience using SKM Power Tools? I learned the basics of it about a year and a half ago and am trying to go back through it and relearn it all. I remember why I stopped messing with it to begin with (too complicated)!

    Selecting Proper K-Rating

I have a small office building with one 112.5 kVA dry type transformer, which at the time of design wasn't specified to be k-rated to handle harmonics. There are quite a few computers and other pieces of equipment that may add harmonics. How can I go about determining which k-rating to use...

Resistors - Measured Value vs. Nominal

Is it normal to get readings on a multimeter for resistors that are pretty far off of the nominal ratings? I have 6 resistors, all red/black/red/gold, which is 2kohms +/-5%. I'm measuring 840 ohms on all of them except for one, which is reading 1.4 kohms. None of these values even come close...

    Fridge Compressor Causing Power Surges?

The past couple of weeks I've been having issues with power in my home. My lights will occasionally flicker, my UPS at my tv/stereo will click to/from backup power, and now my computer upstairs has begun cutting off. The only thing I've come up with is this all happens when my refrigerator...

    Per Unit and #527

I feel dumb on this one, but all my reference material explains pu as being actual / base. So why is the solution found by taking the base / actual?

    Power Depth Module

Where can I find more practice problems for the power depth module? It feels like I've barely studied any of that section. All I have is the brief section of the ncees and kaplan's EE 360 book that has a few problems in it.

    NCEES #127

Can someone walk me through this problem with step by step instructions. My references aren't helping out at all. "For the parameters shown in the figure, the closed loop-damping ration is most nearly...." 25 --- 2 / 0.5s+1 --- 1/40s I seem to be pretty weak in the area of transfer...
