+1 on the shaggy method. Spend the time before the exam to save time during the exam. It's a no brainer. Also had the index printed in a 3-ring binder, with my other notes and whatnot.

Also grab the Engineering Unit Conversions book by Lindeberg. It saves a ton of time with conversions (and avoids mistakes). I had Machinery's Handbook and I think I opened it a couple times for machine design questions. But I think I could have done the exam without it.

I was thinking about getting this book, since I hear a lot about it. What is different between it and MERM? Is it really worth getting?

I saw someone at the Pomona Fairplex (CA) getting walked out. Not sure what it was over. Crappy for him though.

I checked with CA first to make sure pencil was allowed. I started a thread about it on this site somewhere. They basically said they hold to the candidate agreement. Nothing in that mentioned pencil in the references, so it is allowed - by not being banned.

At least in CA, the MSME counts as a year. So of the 6 required, 5 are covered by school. Then having a PE as a reference isn't always required. Your state should have specific requirements on their website.
