for hiner you don't have to attend in person, he has a web version. the book you buy for that course has good problems in it as well. i didn't take either course.
Call and talk to the person who processed your application. They normally notify you if you failed the take home with a chance to retake it before the exam to avoid paying an extra fee. It kind of sounds like maybe they are having issues with putting the take homes into the system correctly.
