I want to buy NCEES pencils...

Well it's Day 2 without the pencil. I've already lost my Greenbook and I accidentally signed Kelly Clarkson's name instead of my own on some civil plans. This is a serious problem, you guys. No more jokes. The NCEES pencil has Excalibur-like qualities.

I want to buy NCEES pencils...

You can go ahead and mock me now. I passed the exam in 2008. I've been using my (white) pencil since then and it's kind of my lucky pencil. However, this past week, the lead ran out. I tried to refill it with the 0.7mm lead refills - too thick. So I bought some 0.5mm refills - too thin...

    California!

I passed in 2008 - luckily I was surrounded by a lot of PEs willing to sign off on my application! Getting everybody to follow the directions for submitting the references to me was another story - for a bunch of engineers, the people surrounding me did not read directions very well and I had...

    California!

xinogage - I understand your point about people who take the test a LOT of times though... I work with another guy who has probably taken seismic 15 times. At what point do you (a) give up or (B) work on a Plan B for studying?? I'm in Pasadena also - maybe we work together? :wave2:

    California!

My boss just retired yesterday. It was well known around the office that he took the exam 10 times before he passed, and he was a very thorough, intelligent man who was one of the best engineers I've ever learned from. There is another girl in our office who passed on the first try and...

    CA Seismic Results

Some people get lucky. Some people are good at guessing multiple choice. Some people are awesome at testing. Don't worry about other people and just focus on you. You WILL pass eventually! I agree with the others that the Hiner book was my go-to source. Seismic is NOT my strength and I...

    CALIFORNIA - RESULTS Oct 2010

Old Engineering Boards user here (I passed in 2008) but it's really great to hear about all of the people who passed, and also it sounds like CA has cleaned up it's act a little bit in terms of getting the results to the test takers in a timely manner. Congrats everybody!

    Failed to Appear??

Congrats T-rav! I was thinking about you. Aaaaaaaaaand... your experience is reason #40037 why the California state government completely blows. I work in local government and the stuff my friend who works for the state tells me blows my mind. My personal experiences have been worse. I'm...

California Data Base, When is going to be updated?

Congrats all you new CA PEs! Great feeling huh? The Dec 31, 2009 expiry date is standard. The application fee is kind of like a pre-payment on your licensing fees. When you get the bill for the rest and pay them, you'll have the standard 2-yr license life. CONGRATS AGAIN!

California Data Base, When is going to be updated?

A coworker passed and her name is not listed yet. I passed last April and you'd think I'd remember this more clearly, but I got my letter on a Monday, and I thought it was on the website by Wednesday. Seems like this year, people got their letters sooner (I'm in LA and seems like a lot of...

CA Results will be mailed July 27, 2009

I passed in Apr 2008 and the database wasn't updated for about a week after I got my letter, if I recall correctly. And yes, California is absolutely the worst run government in the entire country (see our current economic meltdown as proof), so it totally makes sense that their PE results...
