I took EET 8 hours and seismic review classes, and I passed both tests.

Ahmed's reference book is really good ( YEAH, a lot of readings) , it covers 90% of the topics. there are a lot of homework questions to let you practice then you would know if you understand each chapter. In addition, you will also receive a practice test book with a disc, and those questions could refresh you memory before the test.

I took on-demand class, because my schedule had conflict with online webinar, but Ahmed did care about me because he always checked with me to see if I had any question. In addition, when my schedule had no conflict with his online webinar, he invited me to his online webinar class, so I could review what I had studied by myself.

TIP: Use his cheat sheet, and add more stuff if you think it is necessary ( I added a lot of information to his cheat sheet, and I used the cheat sheet on all seismic calculation questions)

Another happy EET student here. I got the results today, and I passed!!

Dr. Ibrahim always went out of his way to answer all my questions, and making sure I understood the concept. His material is very well prepared and presented. He left no stone unturned, and made complex seismic concepts easy to grasp.

I didn't have time to take the two exams in his Computer Based Test simulation CD, but that one test experience helped me TREMENDOUSLY. I took it about 3 days before the actual exam. While it was an opportunity to put my test strategy to work, which is basically answering the exam in 3 runs - the first run doing the easiest problems, then coming back thru and working the intermediates, leaving the hardest ones for the last run, it boosted my confidence and took away the stress the day of the exam.

In all honesty, I enjoyed reading his textbook even after I took the exam. Good luck everyone.

I took the Hiner’s course last fall and did not pass. I then signed up with EET for the live webinar and pass the exam confidently this spring. Hiner’s class was good but Dr. Ibrahim is the BEST. You don’t know what you are missing until you have experienced it.

I would have to agree with the first few posters. I attempted to pass the exam studying by myself using Hiners book that I borrowed from a coworker. I did not pass and knew I would need some class to get me over the edge since I do zero structural work. When deciding between Hiners class and EET it was the fact that I could watch the material over and over with EET but not with Hiners that put me over the egde to go with EET. Then after I found out that I could do on-demand and live webinar plus Dr. Ibrahim gave out his cell phone and responded to e-mails always within an hour there is no other choice than Dr. Ibrahim's EET course. It is extremely comprehensive, i'll be honest I skipped the detailing sections for steel, concrete, and masonary, I just didn't see the reward to 6-hours of videos fir maybe 3 questions on the exam. The great thing is you can skip what you don't want. I passed this time and have been recomending this class even before I found out the results.

Simply said, Dr. Ibrahim's course took me from absolutely no knowledge of seismic principles to passing the California special exam. I can't say enough about how much Dr. Ibrahim cares about his students. When I paid for the course, at no point did I expect the level of attention and the amount of time that Dr. Ibrahim dedicates to the course. All of my questions were answered via email within 12 hours (max) and in great detail so I truly understood the answer. He also gave me his personal cell phone and told me I could call anytime. Dr. Ibrahim knew I was taking all three exams and understood I would need to focus on the 8-hr and Surveying first (Seismic was my last test). The day I was done with those first two, he emailed me a study plan for the remaining days I had available and asked for updates on how it was going. I don't know that I would've studied hard enough those last few days without him pushing me, and I am extremely grateful for that. With Dr. Ibrahim's urging and assistance, I was able to pass the Seismic with no problem. Some of the best money I've ever spent. I would highly, highly recommend his course to anyone!

My experience with Dr. Ibrahim's seismic class was so similar! I concur he not only knows the subject matter and exam strategies inside and out, he actually cares about each of his students, and devotes countless hours to ensuring their success. His book, simulation exams, strategies and tips, problems solving workshops, and homework assignments were all on-point and exactly what I needed to pass. Plus he motivated me when I most needed it!!

Best class ever!!!

After taking the Water Resources review with EET last fall and passing, I signed up for EET's Seismic Review class for the April 2015 cycle. I had taken the "other" seismic review class a few years back and didn't pass. The main difference is that Dr. Ibrahim cares about his student's success in achieving their PE License. He will set time aside and meet with you personally if your not understanding something. This goes above and beyond collecting a check and just going over material. I felt that was the way the other class went. That instructor didn't know your name or cared whether or not you passed.

I didn't have any previous seismic background or education (I graduated with a mechanical degree) and took the live classroom seminar. Dr. Ibrahim was professional and courteous, and genuinely cared about his students passing the exam. As with the 8-hour review class, the class size was fairly small, 10-12 students, so it allowed for more individual attention and you could ask the "stupid" question that you couldn't ask in a class of 50-60. Technically, he is an outstanding instructor and his material covered nearly everything I saw on the exam, with the exception that he warned us that the Board may introduce new topics/problems in the exam, which I did encounter. Dr. Ibrahim placed the emphasis on what to study, and the homework problems were very similar to the exam questions. But one of the major advantages that his course provides were the timed, practice exams. The CD he provides has two exams and are very similar to the Prometrics format. You could practice exam-like problems with the added pressure of the clock to work through all the problems.

The same day after taking my exam, Dr. Ibrahim and I talked and he provided encouragement and support, believing I had passed more than I did myself. He was right, I passed and got my PE. No review class can guarantee you'll pass since it is up to each individual's effort to study the material, do the homework and exams, and stay on track, but If you're thinking about taking a Seismic review class, this is the one to take. It would be time and money well spent.

all of these EET posts makes it seem like they're not genuine...
Or maybe they are that good, that people are very inclined to share their experience.

I have personally responded to all of these EET reviews because I want you guys to know how great these classes are. Read my first posts about EET, before the class even began (I'll find it and link), I didn't even pay for the class. My work did. I have no skin in this game whatsoever.

I agree, but you'll never convince the automatrons around here. Too many "new" people with only 4 or 5 posts - all in different threads talking about how great EET is. The term is sockpuppetry - go google it........

I'm not saying it's everyone but it appears to happen a lot on here.

Except that one guy who's a moderator. And you can't go by number of posts to classify someone as "new."

I am not "new" and I know most of these "new" people from my classes at EET. So take it for what it's worth.

Haters gonna hate I guess. So I take it you teach some PE review somewhere? When exactly did your 57 posts and registration 6 months ago make YOU an old hat?

As I have said countless times, I was turned on to EET by someone on this board (a moderator on this board), and I feel an obligation to return that advice to other members on this board preparing for the exam. If you don't want to take the class, then just move onto the next topic. But your constant posts regarding the validity of the positive reviews of EET are just dumb.

I took the EET classes based on recommendations from this board and I am glad I did! I passed this time around with their help, albeit, I took the review class for the national exam and not the seismic.

Take what you will from the users who offer their support/input. I know I took each review with a grain of salt and decided it was a better option for me instead of SoPE. For the record, I am not a "new" member in any way, as you can find all of my failing posts from April 14 and October 14.

Lighten up, Francis. Apparently, I struck a nerve with you.

If by constant you mean the ONE time I brought it up and the ONE time I responded to someone else who brought it up (this thread), then yeah, I guess that's dumb.

No, I don't teach another review class but when I see people say they hadn't thought about EET but with all these positive posts maybe I should try it, it makes me think someone should bark at the sheep to get their attention.

And if you read either of my two posts on the subject, you'll note I said it wasn't everyone (that means you and a couple others, if I have to spell it out) that I think are doing this. It's the people with only 4 or 5 posts on the same subject.

I'm not sure if I can be any more clear on the subject. If you can't understand my point, don't respond to my posts and I won't respond to yours, ok?

I try and stay pretty neutral about all our vendors here, however I also get suspicious when I see repetitive advertisements by our regular members.

I didn't go into complete NSA mode but I did check all the IP numbers of the post involved in all of them appeared to be independent of each other

night watch - I have noticed you have a couple different accounts here - or at least others registered with the same IP address. Kind of ironic don't you think?

Let me know which ones you want me to delete (or maybe both of them?)

This is a strong and harsh accusation for you to make, based only on personal speculation. Personally, I think you make yourself look bad when you make unfounded claims like this, without asking or finding out the facts first.

I will say that I personally have known Dr. Ibrahim, owner of EET, for several years now - before I was an Admin here and before he was a vendor here. If you knew him, you’d know he is a very kind, honest, and ethical man. He is so incredibly dedicated to his class, it’s amazing. I assure you, the reviews are genuine.

While I shouldn’t have to do this, I’ll briefly clarify to you why some of the posters of the positive reviews have few post counts. The reason is simple – they were not EB members until after they took EET's class. At the end of the class, Dr. I. asks his students to give honest reviews of his class, good or bad. He then makes some suggestions of where they can do so. EB is one of the suggested places. But he never instructs anyone to leave only a positive review – he asks only for an honest one. Even if it is an honest bad review, he’s happy to hear it because his goal is to always improve his class (by continuing what works well and by making any changes that might improve the student experience). His reviews are positive – because it’s a darn good class and he’s a darn good teacher. The reviews are not phony.

I’ll give you one quick example of a “low post counter” who I can vouch for. MoPE is my close co-worker who took EET’s CA-Seismic and 8-hr classes, and loved them. Here is his 1 and only post:

And I can assure you all the other ones are legit too. The IP addresses, as well as the writing styles are all different.

You might consider giving EET an apology.
