Hello fellow engineers,
I recently passed the CA seismic exam on my first attempt after completing AEI's on-demand review course in 7 weeks. I skipped watching many of the course videos (62 hours worth), instead focusing on reading the textbook and solving the end-of-chapter questions. Then I timed myself while working through the practice exam book. The only references I brought to the exam were the AEI textbook w/ tabs, AEI cheat sheets, and a handful of printed code/ manual sections.
- Fundamentals of Seismic Analysis & Design of Buildings (7th ed.)
- Practice Exams for the California Seismic Principles Civil P.E. Examination (5th ed.)
- AEI cheat sheets (20 pages)
- Printed wood design & special inspection references (20 pages)
$170 to ship as a bundle anywhere in the USA. Both books are brand new and updated for California's newly adopted CBC 2022.
