Wood Beam Question - Not Sure What I'm Missing

Need help with a simple beam question.

I solved it and chose a 4x16 dimensional lumber using Table 4A out of NDS supplement

Yet the book (Kaplan) chose a 6x14 Timber. Not sure why, because the requirements for this problem are seemingly satisfied by a smaller dimensional piece. Am I missing something?

I think a 6x14 is more available than a 4x16. That said, I would switch to a PSL or Glulam once they get that big. Sorry... doesn't answer your question other than it could be you didn't use the correct CF factor...
