I'm working some practice problems and one has a statment about a traffic signal with a green/cycle ratio. I've tried to look up green/cycle ratio and have not had much luck. Any one know of a good place to look to explain this? Thanks

Did you try to look for it in Traffic Engineering Handbook?

Basically it is the ratio of green time for a phase to the cyccle length. It is referred to as g/C (g-C ratio). g is for green time and C is for cycle length. It indicates how much green time out of the whole cycle length is alotted to a particular movement.

Also try looking it in any basic traffic engineering textbook and Google is always your friend...

Hope this helps.

Check the HCM in Ch 10 and C16 on the g/c ratio
