The presentation was to present the preliminary design to the DOT of one of my projects approx. 50% plans, which is the point where we get design approval and move into final design. We had one last week and then the one today and between two PD meetings 7 days apart I've put in nearly 160 hours since last Monday.

I'm also the only highway design engineer in my firm in my state, so I got no staff to help me even though they hired me with promises of building a design team around me. Oh and the office is a bit if a sore subject since I've been in window offices since 2009, until this place who stuck me in a cube... I've got a masters and at my peak had 8 PE licenses with 100 million design build projects under my belt, but I took a lower position to get the job in CT so we could move here. That said, I knew I'd have to prove my worth for the first six months and then shoulda gotten a promo, but that didn't come through because if some drama with a particularly ******* Vice President who apparently doesn't like my southern charm. It's a long story, but that's the gist of it.

maybe I'll wait to take the PE until after it's CBT so I can get my results in a week.

And by then you will need Masters to sit for PE.

I used my deep southern accent the first three weeks at the new job around the chics, but I had to give it up this week too many of them stopping by to talk...productivty lost..

I did see your company advertising some junior engineer positions on linked in today, but I didnt see what office..

Do they not want to hire because of backlog issues? they should at least get some cheap summer help from college kids on summer break? you should pitch that idea to the VP that like you..
