I wish you could just call an engineer with questions instead of having to go through RFI after RFI. Imagine how much time and money you would save by having a 5 minute conversation.

yeah, until you get burned on it and there is no proper paper trail.

you can still have the 5 min conv but follow it up with an RFI so everyone is covered.

you can't call the engineer? why not?

I guess I could. I have their initials on the drawing. "Can I talk to ATJ or YRE please?"

But the GC wants everything to written down, understandably. Ha, don't get me started on confirming RFI's. The GC requested them and then they got upset because we weren't asking a question on it. We already answered the question at the meeting, you asked us to write a confirming RFI!
