- Significant relevant experience at a strategic management consultancy (or equivalent project management and problem solving experience) with demonstrable project management capabilities
- Degree educated from a leading institution in a numerate discipline (strong grounding in science or engineering)
- Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate any analysis to both internal and external customers and in a manner that inspires confidence
- Both research and analytical expertise, demonstrating ability to quickly source and sift large amounts of information, often technical and often in new fields, to draw out the key points
- Able to communicate effectively through both written work and verbally.
- Previous line-management experience
- Demonstrable experience of the sustainability sector in Africa, including low carbon/energy policy, especially in relation to transport, agriculture/land-use change, and/or evaluation
- International work experience desirable (ideally in the major emerging economies)
- Experience of business development
