Anybody here taken the PE exam while in grad school? I'm in school now and taking the October exam and I'm finding myself having a hard time studying. I feel like I'm spending a lot of time reviewing things I already know and courses I already did well in, and I lose my motivation. I'm not saying that I remember all the course material, but I feel like the subject matter is fresh enough that I'm going to get bored staring at the books for the next two months. I'm thinking about just skipping reviewing and going straight to working problems. Any thoughts?

My vote is to start working as many problems as you can. You can never work too many problems. Do the NCEES sample exam. Work problems in the weak areas it exposes. Then do it again. That's been my approach so far. I'm getting better... and faster...

The only time I reviewed anything was when I couldn't work a problem. That was often,. because I was out of school for many years when I began studying. But I think the problem for most people is that they don't work enough problems. THat may be more true for the mechanical and electrical tests than the civil tests.

The test is in a c0ouple months. I'd just start workiong as many problems as I could.

school year just started, and in grad school you need to do a lot of assignments and researches. Im not sure how youre gonna divide your time with Pe review and school but you can do it. I did my MSEng while working and doing sideline job all at the same time back in my home country.

Me too Im doing straight to problem solving, I can recall the theories behind most of the civil subjects except water/envi, if Im stuck thats the time I looked at CERM or the old textbook. Lets see waht happens on my 1st PE civil exam.

Good luck.
