Position Description

Saudi Aramco seeks a Civil Field Supervisor join its Inspection Department. The successful candidate will supervise or manage quality systems implementation of capital projects. Work scope requires physical exertion, working outdoors, confined spaces, high elevations, and remote work locations.

Inspection Department is charged with the corporate responsibility for Inspection of materials and equipments purchased, equipments and facilities constructed for Saudi Aramco and quality systems implementation in Capital Projects. The incumbent will be assigned to one of the Projects Inspection Divisions within Inspection Department. Projects Inspection Divisions take care of quality assurance and compliance, with globally accepted standards in work through constant monitoring, inspection and quality systems audit.

Minimum Requirements

• B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering with minimum 7 years’ experience in the oil & gas industry or similar process.

• ICBO (International Conference of Building Officials) certification as Building Inspector and Plumbing Inspector, or ACI (American Concrete Inspector) or PE (Professional Engineering) Certificate or equivalent.

• Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, quality management systems and economic principles, calculation methods, design details, U.S. and Aramco Codes, Standards and Specifications such as ACI, ASTM, AASHTO, BS and ISO.

• Thorough working knowledge of the International Building Code, Uniform Plumbing Code and applicable Saudi Aramco Standards.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Supervise or manage quality systems implementation of capital projects, prepares inspection plan for major construction projects.

• Initiate or conduct special studies for improving facilities or operations.

• Provide specialized technical service in recognized engineering fields.

• Act as consultant to undertake or coordinate complex engineering problems.

• Design, coordinate or direct work of other engineers.

• Discuss, coordinate and resolve problems with personnel throughout Aramco and subsidiaries and outside of company organizations.

• Act as mentor, coach, and trainer when required.

• Act as the focal point of contact for project reviews and in technical matters related to his field of engineering.

• The candidate will have frequent contact with middle management within Projects Management, Construction, Operations, and Mechanical Services Organizations to discuss and resolve engineering problems.

About Us

The Engineering & Project Management (E&PM) business line studies, plans and oversees the construction of the Company’s new facilities, including some of the biggest and most complex projects in the petroleum industry. Recently, Saudi Aramco completed the largest capital program in its history that included new or expanded oil, gas and petrochemical facilities, raising maximum sustainable crude oil production capacity to 12 million barrels per day and significantly increasing gas production and processing capacities. Among the recently completed projects was the largest crude oil increment in the history of the industry: Khurais, with a production capacity of 1.2 million barrels per day. More challenges lie ahead, with a slate of new or expanded oil, gas, refining and petrochemical projects in the works. E&PM also manages the Company’s Research & Development Center where scientists investigate topics such as the desulfurization of crude oil, advanced fuel formulations for next generation combustion engines, and reservoir nano-scale robots (Resbots™) for injection into reservoirs to record their properties.
