Here's a list of the books I used to pass the PE exam - 1st try! My goal was the following, start hard and as the exam approached, do easier problems to build confidence. The problems probably also seemed easier b/c I had been studying longer.

1. Companion book of questions to CERM (5-6 months before exam)
2. All 6-minute solution books (3-months before exam) - FOR SALE IN YARD SALE SECTION by OceanEngr.
3. School of PE review course problems (2-months before exam)
4. NCEES sample exam

I believe the problems get easier as you work down this list - in my opinion. This is how I studied on my own and it was work it b/c I passed.
