Wasn't sure where to put this thread - mods please move if needs to be elsewhere.

I'm hoping to hear from others who have straddled the environmental engineering/science worlds and become licensed as CA Civil PE. Specifically curious about what tasks do or don't count in this field. Does anyone who has straddled these worlds and become licensed have feedback?

For reference, my experience is:

2008 - BS Civil/Env Engr

~4yrs experience in water quality monitoring, no PEs (assumption is not counted)

2016 - MS Watershed Science

2016-2020 - Env Engr under CA Civil PE (consulting)
- environmental analysis, reporting, management/coordination of surveys, evaluate client compliance, develop environmental/safety/management plans, cost evaluations, proposals, schedules, staff management
- all in all, not the typical civil gig i read about on here or elsewhere
- however, the PE i worked under signed off on the time

2018 - passed 8hr civil

2020-present - Water Resource Engr (county)
- some work under CA Civils, some not
- manage various contractors (for EIR, historical compliance, CEQA work), CEQA determinations, review contractor drawings/specs/GPR, evaluating field sensor designs, negotiate with regulators
- again, not much strictly civil work save the design evaluations

My real questions come down to the fact that many of these tasks are not classical civil engineering; however, they involve what I would consider professional level decision making. How much do you all think will count?

Thanks in advance!
