To lead one of a number of teams, reporting to a Group Manager, in order to provide a customer focused, forward thinking service; working to effectively deliver the Sustainable Communities Strategy.

The Project Manager ensures that highway schemes allocated to them are delivered via consulting engineers/staff to agreed deadlines and to agreed specifications. The role requires the post holder to liaise with 3rd parties and the public about scheme development. Public consultations are co-ordinated by the Project Manager in liaison with the Area Manager and the Customer Service Hub.

West Sussex County Council requires project management to continuously improve business performance and develop services to its customers in West Sussex. Project Management exists to support the Strategic direction of West Sussex County Council by assessing current performance and identifying pathways to improvement, ensuring adherence to County Strategy, and Council Standing orders. These positions are employed in various Units within West Sussex County Council. This role will be involved with corporate and/or directorate projects using the corporate change management process.
