Thought we saw an exotic hummingbird the other day snacking at a Confederate Jasmine. Turned out to be something I'd never heard of, a hummingbird moth: http://www.cirrusimage.com/moths_snowberry_clearwing.htm

we have those around here all the time. we get the regular humming birds too.

They make a brief appearance around here in the spring as well. Unfortunately the flowers tend to die off from the dry heat by mid summer and they disappear again...
