Power Upgrade Programme (PUP) Lead

As a Power Upgrade Programme (PUP) Lead you work in the T45 Power and Propulsion (P&P) Improvement Programme team responsible for managing delivery of the programme, including the delivery of the electrical, auxiliary systems & PMS upgrades required to support the programme.

Your main responsibilities as a Power Upgrade Programme (PUP) Lead:

Leading a multi-disciplinary PUP Team in a project environment drawn from across the engineering functions, to develop, design, procure, manufacture, install, test and support the integrated Power, Propulsion, Electrical, Auxiliary Systems and PMS improvement package for the Type 45

Working closely with the T45 P&P Delivery Lead and the T45 Chief Engineer, Head of T45 Engineering and the MoD Approval Authority to ensure that the work of the PUP team delivers the required outputs fully aligned and integrated with the totality of the ship and project activity

Managing engineering performance, safety and risk for the PUP

Managing / supporting Customer/ Stakeholder group through reviews and progress meetings

Ensuring that the programme meets the Lifecycle Management governance and reporting requirements of the Company and the Authority, as well as the Type 45 management processes

Your skills and qualifications:

-Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
-Chartered Engineer status– Ceng or working towards
-Experience of Power and Propulsion ideally within a marine environment
-Expertise in more than one of following areas: Requirements Management, Concept Studies, Systems Definition, Systems Design, Systems Integration, Design Proving, Systems Acceptance, Systems Analysis or Product Safety Management
-Ability to act as a Technical Authority to investigate issues and create solutions within Power and Propulsion
-Experience across multiple marine platforms is highly desirable
-Ability to build / improve effective supplier and customer relationships
-Ability to establish clear goals and monitor own performance and objectives
-Understanding of the importance of continuous business improvement

This is a full time role and will be based in our Portsmouth Naval Base. Hampshire

This role will be paying a competitive salary depending on experience and we would be willing to offer a relocation package.
