Position Title = Photovoltaic Engineer
Education Required = BSEE or BSME or BSCE
Years Experience Required = 2-3 years in PV design
Position Description =
Responsible for maintaining quality and design standards of all financed residential solar PV systems.
Must be detail-oriented as well as see the bigger picture. The ideal candidate will be able to manage a large volume of
projects while demonstrating excellent communication.
The responsibilities of the PV Engineer are to review and approve full design packages for residential PV systems
(Photovoltaic Systems), milestone submissions and final installation sign off. This can include, but is not limited to,
reviewing structural side views, attachment details, beam calculations, line diagram of the wiring schematic, and
electrical calculations. Will work closely with our partners to correct and remedy any deficiencies found during the
construction process. It is the role of the PV Engineer to manage these relationships and facilitate financing of the
highest quality systems.
Responsibilities
Work with partner engineering teams to review and approve design packages and installation procedures.
Maintains database of local permits required for clients financed systems to ensure partner quality and compliance.
Work cross functionally with clients partner’s sales, project management and installation teams to ensure clients’
needs and internal deadlines are met.
Other Requirements
Knowledge of mechanical design and beam theory.
Knowledge of electrical design theory and concepts.
Knowledge of residential and commercial construction.
