The Barrow-in-Furness site has recently had £300m of investment approved as part of a site wide expansion project, if you’re an Operation Manger with Nuclear experience, we would like you to be part of this once in a generation project.
Should you be successful in securing one of these positions you will developed and expected to gain mandatory qualifications (in house) related to Nuclear Safety and Safety & Supervisory courses, which are imperative to the integrity of the product and people.
Over time and should you wish to do so, there will be opportunities to progress. These opportunities will be created through the growth triggered by the Future Successor Programme.
The Operations Management opportunities we have available are:
Operations Manager – Reactor
Supporting and managing the Reactor build within a multi-disciplined team in Operations. This will involve liaising with key stakeholders, Projects and the Rolls Royce site office. Developing the reactor build strategy for the Astute and Successor programme, impacting the defence of the UK for generations.
Operation Manager – Nuclear Manufacture
Supporting manufacturing within the new Primary Build Capability (PBC), managing the Reactor build within a multi-disciplined team in operations, including liaison with key stakeholders, projects and the Rolls Royce site office.
Operations Manager – Nuclear End Load Manager
Ensuring that the End Load Build Process Pre-requisites are scoped understood and executed by the relevant management teams and achieved in a controlled manner to meet the construction programme and design intent.
To successful in any of these positions we would expect your skills and qualifications to include:
Experienced engineer within manufacture and construction is essential
Worked to nuclear control procedures including Manufacture Installation Instructions and Nuclear Method Statements is essential
Nuclear/reactor build experience in a supervisory capacity is essential
Submarine manufacture and build installations experience would be highly advantageous
Demonstrable ability to deliver a plan and schedule
Strong understanding of LEAN
Demonstrate knowledge or awareness of Health and Safety legislation
