But I want to be able to not work someday and I won't ever be able to afford to buy property here so that isn't an investment I have. I should just roll my savings into a retirement account since k won't need it for a down payment on a house.

When you live in Hawaii you don't get to save much. I figure I can just move into a tent once the kids are out of college.

My future raises/promotions depend me passing, apparently. Despite the fact that I'd be like 1 of maybe a dozen people with it in my entire company... Which was all decided after I'd paid for and took it during PTO

Well I am not absolutely sure my raises and/or promotions depend on it, but the amount of S%$# I will get from my supervisors who are PE's  if I don't pass it is what I am most dreading!!
