One year ago I was stressed out to the max, having my household goods packed for last-minute shipment halfway around the world, and trying to wrap up personal matters in a place that I lived for more than 20 years.  Thanksgiving was the last thing on my mind, but I was so grateful to already have a Thanksgiving dinner invite from friends of a friend (=total strangers) in our new hometown.
