Hi All,
I need advice, The question 129 from NCEES practice exam, the feeder impedance is calculated for three 500kcmil THWN cu conductors in steel pipe directly from
the table in chapter 9, table 9 of NEC. The answer comes approx. 471V.
My question is why the author did not account for 0.8 p.f. for Resistance and X to determine Zeff.
Although at the bottom he states that the solution of this question can also be obtained by calculating Zeff as per note 2 of NEC. (which is exactly my question)
I calculated Zeff considering p.f. of 0.8 or per Note 2 of NEC (table 9, chapter 9) and the answer does not come 470V but it comes close to 465V (which is one of the other choices)
Please comment/advice
