I need help to understand the solution on this problem.

Why the area to build the wall (for the bottom).......(40+90)(2)(8)(2)= 4,160 ft2.... I think the last (2) is a mistake....I think should be (40+90) (2)(8)= 2,080

anybody agree?

It has to be formed on both sides, so needs to multiply by two.

To answer your question, I would never try to place concrete in a wall with only one face formed......unless of course there was an on-line sheeting and shoring system in place

Just don't try to pour concrete into that. It will make a mess.
