I remember watching the Colleen Applegate story on PBS years ago and thinking how depressing it was.

A few years later, I lived in apartments with plenty of strippers. I realized the flesh industry is even more depressing than the show depicted it as being.

Magic Mike is actually a very depressing movie too.

I have known a few strippers...and usually they have a three-year old and deadbeat/abusive boyfriend/babydaddy and a habit. Not the best life.
