:deadhorse: Waiting for that pony express rider to deliver a BIG envelope!

I have not heard ANYTHING. I keep checking the ksbtp site for ANY hints, I am READY to find out the results!

I guess there are only 3 of us Kansans waiting! The wait is killing me....can't believe that we haven't found out yet. I really think that they are waiting to tell us our results this Friday....Friday the 13th! Hopefully tomorrow or Saturday. Do you think that we will get the results by mail or email??

Good luck everyone! :mail-296:

There SURE were a LOT more than three folks in that "AG hall" in rickety plastic chairs on garage sale tables taking that darn test a few months ago! I guess that most are resigned to just waiting for the winds of progress to roll through the licensing board (ha ha)...

Personnally, I am having a HARD TIME concentrating on routine stuff until I KNOW SOMETHING! I KNOW that it doesn't matter, the grades are already done and the decisions have been made, I just would REALLY like to know one way or the other...

Heck, it was just one year ago that I decided to go ahead and TRY to get licensed. When I graduated (1976), getting a PE was not considered necessary, in fact, we were not even allowed to take the EIT test while we were in school. I remember trying to take the EIT on a WARM day in the spring of 1977 on another cheap chair, when I decided at lunchtime to just GO TO THE BEACH (South Carolina springtime is so much better than Kansas (ha ha))!! I NEVER went back, and neither the EIT or PE mattered for almost 30 years...

Then about two years ago, we were informed that IF we did NOT have a PE license, that we could NOT even consider ourselves "inguneers" anymore in Kansas. Well, THAT ticked me off, for a while then I decided to just go ahead and take it on. I took the FE in October 07, and was SURPRISED as heck that I passed it on the first try. Oh, I DID STUDY, but that was a difficult test for an OLD guy! Sitting in that BIG room with all those kids was interesting, I was concerned that IF I failed that I would SURE be remembered by those proctors. I was surprised as heck that I passed. Then I set out on the PE.

I work at the ONLY Nuclear plant in Kansas, and we were in a refueling outage this spring. We work 12 hour shifts six days a week. LUCKILY, (ha ha) I was on NIGHTS, and my "day-off" was FRIDAY (I saw to that on the scheduling).... I was able to leave work a little bit early on Thursday night so I got to Topeka around midnight. I actually did get an hour or two of sleep before the test.

For ME, the test was interesting. After my actual work in the outage it was actually NICE to be in a QUIET room, and NOT BOTHERED by ANYTHING for eight hours. There was nobody YELLING at me to do this or that, all that I had to do was figure out how to solve word problems. It is hard to describe the differences.

For ME it was an accomplishment JUST to be there. To STAY AWAKE and focused was the challenge, and actually it was fun. BUT, I HOPE that I don't HAVE to do it AGAIN (ha ha)!!

I NEVER even anticipated the FE results. It was a TOTAL surprise when I found them in the mailbox and learned that I had be deemed an Intern Engineer after 32 years (HA HA)!! NOW, I want the PE to prepare for the future after I leave the "creek." GOOD LUCK to ALL who challenged themselves with the test, it was a good challenge. Personnally I would rather rather resurrect my old skydiving ratings and move on to instructing and jumpmastering full time, but you know what, it SURE doesn't pay like being an engineer does...

GOOD LUCK to ALL!!

I also took the PE after a long time working in engineering. Good luck. I passed last year in Civil - Transportation.

I am originally from Kansas but am currently living in Arkansas but decided to take the test for Kansas licensure. So even if they were to mail them out today, I wouldn't get them until Saturday probably. I'm having a hard time concentrating, too. I just want to know either way! I've been trying not visit the KSBTP website too much as it just makes me more frustrated every time I go and they haven't updated.

I came out of the test sure that I'd failed, but now I have some hope that I got lucky and passed. I really don't want to have to go through all of this again, but I will if I failed.

Maybe we'll hear good news today!! Keeping my fingers crossed.

So, I really dislike checking the KS Access webpage. It is so NOT user friendly....and it looks like it was made in 1985.

Hopefully we find out soon! I need to know if I should start applying for a job at the GAP! :D

I just called the KS board and asked if they had any news for us. She said that we will be getting results by mail....but she doesn't know when. Same old answer....."Keep checking the website for updates".

Ok, better quit stressing and start doing some work.

FLASH! The KSBTP just updated the website, and added the following note:

Notice: PE and FE scores for the April 2008 Exams were mailed June 12, 2008. Do not call the Board office concerning scores unless you do not receive yours by June 19, 2008.

BUT, they are "sly" up there in Topeka, because they did NOT update the listing of PE's (or else EVERYBODY failed (ha ha))!! Oh well, it sounds like we will all just have to put it on hold for a few days for the MAIL TRUCKS to make it through all the tornadic weather to get to our wet mailboxes.

Guess that I can spend a few hours building up my posting numbers. This is an interesting website, wish that I had found it a year ago when my process actually got started.

SO, in accordance with one of the THREE BIGGEST LIES in the english language....

The RESULTS are IN THE MAIL!!! :bananalama:

I know! I about screamed when I checked the webpage and it had today's date as the update date. I'm in KC...so I kind of have a feeling that I will get the letter in the mail tomorrow!! I wish we could just drive to Topeka and pick up the results. So, I guess tomorrow (or saturday) I'll either be chugging champagne out of excitement or out of sadness. Either way, I'm getting toasted!!! :beerchug:

This is a cool board....I didn't even know about it until I started checking online to figure out when we would find out our scores. i guess if I don't pass I will be visiting this board a lot in the next couple of months!

I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I get it on Saturday and don't have to wait until Monday since mail usually takes a couple days to get here from Topeka. I don't know if I can work tomorrow! I'm too nervous about the results!

Wife called, the letter came. Asked her if it was BIG or small, she said "business size..."

Oh well, I get another opportunity to LEARN what I should have known the first time (ha ha).

I am STILL AMAZED that I got that FE under my belt, now I get to take ANOTHER SWING at this PE test. Maybe I will actually LEARN something this time (ha ha)

HOPE that EVERYBODY ELSE does BETTER!!

Heman, Don't let the size of the letter determine your results! A couple coworkers that took it in KS a few years ago said that they didn't get the certificates printed in time....so they just mailed all the results in small envelopes, no matter what! They sent the passing certificates later.... So, maybe you did pass! I am so nervous about heading home and opening the mail.......

I got my results on Friday night.....I PASSED....Civil- WR/ENV. I really couldn't believe it. Now, I am still suffering from celebrating on Friday and Saturday!! Congrats to all who passed:)
