this is from the testmaster problem set for power. I think the solution is wrong. what do you guys think?

it said, generator A E1=20 KV with 5 degree, generator B E2=15KV with 42 degrees. calculate active power flowing over the line. I don't understand why this formular is used here.

 
this formula is originally about active power delivered by the generator in the synchronous machine section. the handout did say this equation can be used to all load conditions. the line is inductive, and A is actually taking active power from B. does the solution indicate we can just take A as the load, jX as the synchronous reactance?
