I don't take the PE till April '09, but i thought i'd start asking the question...How long have you been studying for the October exam? How many hours a day/week. Is it too early to start now? I plan on starting in the spring of '09 when the ASCE review course kicks in.Thanks in Advance

I started mid-July and I'm taking the October exam. I spend about 10-15 hours per week studying. Hopefully it will be enough. I feel like I'm spending enough time but that may change as the exam gets closer.

If you have a CREDIBLE organization that has outlined a study schedule for the exam - I say go for it!

Good luck!

Typically you should prepare for 3-4 months before the exam (300-400 hours min). I spent about half that time and felt pretty good about my exam though....Although this was my 2nd time taking it so I had an idea on what to focus on while studying.

I studied hardcore for 2 months (15 hrs/week), got burned out, quit, and then crammed for a week immediately before. = PASS

I started light studying in December. Started hardcore in January, this month I'm studying every chance I get. I'm taking the April exam. I would've started really hardcore sooner, but was unsure if I would be accepted by my state board for the April exam because I took 3 months off for maternity leave.
