I was wondering if someone could tell me how you recognize which case is the loading using page 471 of ibc. I am not sure how you are supposed to be reading those figures.. thank you

I believe the Case 1 is where the long edge of the sheeting is perpendicular to the load and Case 1 the load is parallel. See Hiner Fig 9.4 for WSP Diaphragms.
