Very quick question. I'm a 48 yr old EE and I'm going to take the PE in April 09. I took the PE once in 01 but failed since then my wife and I have had two kids and I was not able to study properly. My question is: what are the best study materials that I can purchase keeping in mind it's been awhile since I've studied? I'm taking the power option and is it true the elect PE will change format in 09 morning exam? TIA

As far as study materials, I pretty much used the EERM and associated practice problems book, as well as the NCEES practice problems. The opinions on what reference materials you'll need vary, but most agree for the power section you'll want a NEC Handbook among other things.

Welcome fellow EE! Go check out the PE Exam - Disciplines / Electrical forum for more info and pointers on the EE PE exam.
