When looking at a vent or pressure relief valve that would create a Hazardous/Classified location, there should be a 5 foot radius sphere extending from the vent. What 'shape' is should the Division 2 be (15ft radius from the source)? Traditionally we have used Spheres, but there there a few folks who are thinking cones would be more representative. I don't see anything in NFPA 70 (NEC) or NFPA 497 that provides good guidance. Maybe I'm missing something or there is another standard?

The gas is natural gas. Generally we try to not reference API 500 due to the 25 foot Div 2 requirements.
