I really should get my CCW permit. I don't "need" it, but why not get it?

Because it raises the government's awareness level on you a bit and gets you on a few lists (probably more than a few these days).

Ga has open carry with permit, but when I travel to Fl, you have to carry concealed only with a permit. No brandishing of firearms or open carry in fl. They do have reprocity with Ga. It took me about 2 hours at lunch one day and $85.00 to get my permit and fingerprints.

I didn't bother to get mine in VA because it was such a hassle and cost $50... mine in AL is still current and that means other than VA and SC I can carry in most of the southeast states without problems. I do think AL probably is one of the less restrictive states.

non-reciprocal, they don't honor AL license... just meant before we crossed the boarder we had to unload and separate
