Freelance Question

I have a CA PE and would like to do some freelance work.

Any tips on how to find projects? My experience is in land development and residential structures.

Find a local small/mid size company and give the Owner a business card - let them know you are available to take on some work load if they get in a pinch. Most companies with >15 employees will have busy swells every now and again. It makes more sense for them to sub out a little work here and there instead of hire a new employee to try and tough it out through the slow times with.
