The ugly truth is there has to be a massive societal change. More and more people don't value education. When parents don't value education, and the community doesn't value education, the student is doomed.

Why "doomed"? The garbage doesn't collect itself and the hamburgers don't make themselves...

Around here, the garbage guys are middle aged and older. Peeps younger than that would just as soon stay at home and collect welfare.

Burger flipping is pretty much all teens. Even the managers are aging out with no one to replace them.
