of course not. but once a week to dump it and clean it good with the hose is much easier if you're dumping more clean litter, and i empty the bin every day so it never smells but scooping every day sucks

until these two we always had indoor/outdoor cats and the litter box was cleaned by a dog if it was needed... I'm not a cat person and I only deal with it because I don't want mice
