Do we allow cut or rolled joints for dry sprinkler system when using with victaulic fittings?

I don't know, do we? :dunno:

In all seriousness, no one uses cut grooves but rolled grooves are fine for dry systems. Just spec the branch line and main slope per NFPA 13.

what's the reason for not using cut grooves?

Cut grooves require a heavier schedule pipe then remove material from the thicker wall. It costs more money to cut the grooves in the pipe and ends in a weaker joint than rolled grooves.
