Maybe somebody can make a suggestion on the following:
We have a 2" SCH 80 PVC pipe discharging from a pump into a City cb, about 190' away. There's about a 5' difference in elevation.
We want the residual water in the line to flow back into the pump chamber when the pump cycle completes. (The last 15-20 feet of the line slopes toward the cb in the road.)
A weephole was introduced on the upflow side of the check valve in the pump chamber.
The problem is after the water backflows, apparently there is some source of water that is continuing to enter into the line, and out the weephole, into the pump chamber.
The line was tested to 30 psi (it's open at the cb end.); holding to 20 psi for 20+ mins.
Is there a product such as a slow closing or delayed closing check valve that will let the initial water flow back after the pump has stopped, and then close?
Any suggestions/comments would be appreciated.
