desperate waiting/ guys help me!

Below is my understanding. I am really unsure. If I am wrong, please correct me by sharing your opinion. You are highly appreciated!

California board posted: The result letters of Civil CA PE exam will be mailed on Janauary 28,2008. Meanwhile (on the same day), the license database online will be updated.

I thought updating database may take less time than delivering letters by mail service. Hence I can expect to find out the "pass/failure" result from online database first. Am I right?

How many days will it approximately take to update database?

Do not believe anything they tell you. They will F*&K it all up and you will be disappointed. Their whole system is retarded. for the last exam results, they ended up hand stuffing the letters (which delayed the mailing), and not updating the data base until a day after I received the confirmation letter. It still makes me mad to think about it. The long wait sucks, they make it much more painful than it needs to be.

Hopefully you passed, and only need to suffer once.

Sorry. THe letters always come first. I've been watching this for several cycles, since I took my exam. They take their sweet time updating the DB.

Thanks. Your replies are helpful. I am working in New York Office. It may take 3 or 5 days for the regular mail from CA board.

Do they use regular mail? or express mail? The Waiting is killing me. I did not get enough time to answer all questions in surveying exam. Hene there were 8 or 10 questions just answered by random guess.

I am really suffering.

I found the results posted on the NY website the day BEFORE I got my letter. So it does happen. However, I was within the first third posted, so the majority in NY did not get updated before the letter came.

It might happen in NY or some other state, but it doesn't happen in California. I think that is the state we are talking about, if I read the first post correctly. Unless your letter is delayed.

I know that won't stop anyone from checking the website 100 times a day. I did, even AFTER I got my passing letter. I wanted to make sure it wasn't a mistake.

The only thing you are going to do is give yourself an ulcer. Try not to think about it - the results will come. You can count on that.

Just wait and your time will come.

BTW: 10 questions answered by random guess is pretty good. From what I've heard, the special seismic and surveying exams have so many questions that you have to guess on most if you don't know it right away.

Thanks. Now I know that most likely california letters will come first.

Assuming CA board are sending results letter on Jan 28, if I did not get letter on Jan 30 (because I am in New York), I will still go to check datbase.

If I could not find name in database on Jan 30, how do I know it is the case that I fail or the case that the database has been updated completely?

Why Techie_Junkie PE know 1/3 database updated when he found his name?

Tell me the tricks please.

Just know that everyone else will get their results before us in California and that the wait isn't even half way done yet.

Enjoy the Holidays and don't drive yourself crazy thinking about it. There will be plenty of time to stress about it after the new year. (Easier said than done, but that's the plan.)
