I started working as a Structural Engineer July 23, 2007. I'd ideally like to take the SE in October. Yes I know I'm crazy, but I would like to take the SE ASAP. I heard that AISC is coming out with a new manual in 2012, and since I am familiar with all the 2005 codes, I'd like to take the exam using those codes.
I know that the deadline is May 15th for the October Exam. I also know some people that applied for the PE, before they allowed people to take it early, would apply with 3 years and 11 months experience. Illinois would say "you aren't eligible" And they would resubmit their experience at that point (Usually 2 months later) and they would be allowed to take the exam.
Do you know if anyone has ever tried to do this with the SE? Thanks.
