Job Description
As the Production Engineer you will assume overall accountability for Safety, Quality, Cost, Profitability, and Delivery for products and processes in your assigned Value Stream, from raw material to finished goods ready to ship. This position will include direct interaction with all internal departments including, product managers, suppliers, customers and senior management.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assume overall accountability for the production costs and efficiency of your assigned value stream.
- Maintain quality through all processes and react to quality issues with corrective action plans.
- Utilise and implement lean concepts to drive process improvements by using data analysis and project management.
- Ensure on time delivery of new products within the manufacturing environment together by collaborating with engineering to establish robust, efficient and sustainable processes.
- Conduct capability analysis for processes and maintain them such that all existing processes are capable according to Stanley Black & Decker standards.
- Write detailed specifications; and conduct tests on systems for efficiency and accuracy until a quality and cost effective production process is implemented successfully.
- Ensure strict compliance with corporate EH&S goals and compliance objectives.
- Fully support and comply with all on site ISO Quality and Environmental Systems.
- Take accountability for establishing and executing productivity projects to meet Value Stream and plant targets.
- Generate and implement new working methods to continuously increase manufacturing productivity.
- Review and evaluate existing on site equipment including overseeing the implementation and modification of future machinery improvements.
- Regularly review and analyse various types of manufacturing related reports and keep senior management informed of significant activities and problems.
- Work with equipment designers and manufacturers to develop cost effective solutions.
- HNC or Degree in Engineering or manufacturing discipline
- Extensive experience gained within a manufacturing environment (High Volume, Fast Paced Advantageous)
- Previous Production Engineer or Value Stream Engineering experience
- Strong communication skills with the ability to deliver presentations to senior management
