ILS Engineer – Combat Systems
Would you like to be involved in designing the future frigates for the MoD using cutting edge systems and technology? We currently have a vacancy for an ILS Engineer – Combat Systems at our site in Filton.
As an ILS Engineer – Combat Systems, you will be you will be providing design for support analysis for the Type 26 to make it supportable, reduce through life costs of maintenance and achieve availability targets.
This role will be aiming to ensure the Type 26 is available to operate at full capability at sea.
Your main responsibilities as an ILS Engineer – Combat Systems will involve:
Considering future supportability options for ship systems and using this information to influence system and spatial design and future support solutions
Using system knowledge to carry out analysis such as predicted failure modes, reliability analysis, and maintenance task analysis
Making recommendations on ship compartment layouts and equipment removal routes to ensure future maintenance and support can be carried out safely and effectively
Preparing customer reports documenting outcomes and recommendations from supportability analyses
Inputting into future ILS and supportability plans
Liaising with other BAE Systems business areas and stakeholders, and the MoD customer
Working with equipment suppliers to ensure our supportability needs are taken into consideration
Your skills and qualifications:
Degree or equivalent experience in an Engineering discipline
Experience in combat systems, or relevant experience in the application of supportability engineering/ILS techniques
