Chelapati Section 6 question

Is the Chelapati Section 6 really needed for the exam? They told me is needed for the courses but does actually electronics comes in Power PE examination?

Power PE would contain rectifier circuits, so that first part of Section 6 would apply. But looking at the Table of Contents (I bought Volume 1 - which I really like - but did not buy Volume 2), much of the rest would not apply. BJT's, FETs, Op Amps, filters, higher order math (Laplace), control system theory, EM fields... I don't see that as applicable. I passed on that second volume, not a whole lot of value for a Power examinee (in my opinion).
