I see Oak Park is on that list. I don't think they would think too highly of having a Harley Davidson and a farm tractor parked in the garage. :D

Perhaps she might enjoy your delectable combination of taco meat and imitation crab.......

I spent grades 1-3 in Herndon, VA. I guess a lot has changed since then....

Honestly, I make the median income for most of those right now (I hope that's GROSS income, and God bless per diem!), but there isn't a single place on that list I'd want to live.

I heavily favor living in shanties, and pissing my money away on cars, booze, and hookers.

Or at least the cars.

^ Back in my single days, my friends used to joke that the perfect "house" for me would be 4000 square feet of garage space with a cot, microwave, and a bathroom in the corner. I still have 4.5 cars worth of garage space plus a hangar.

They had a climate controlled garage/warehouse space for rent not too far from here. I actually went and looked at it after I had already moved in. Would have considered it if it had a range and a fridge.

I've known three people from Arlington and they're all successful. One of them runs a lab at one of the big hospitals in Boston, another is the assistant dean of engineering at Dartmouth, and the third one is the marketing director at my old job. Something in the water I think.

I drove through there for work recently. Seems like a nice, mid-to-upper middle class town.

Irvine, CA
Population: 201,160

Single: 33.0%

Median family income: $107,821

You might find a young engineer who works for Samsung, Mazda, or any number of tech startups living in Irvine's orderly streets. Take your date to the movies or to see an improv comedy show. At the end of the night, take a romantic spin on the Ferris wheel at the Irvine Spectrum shopping center. Or flirt with local singles at the city's many restaurants, bars and lounges.
FAIL!

I live in Irvine. there is a COMPLETE lack of anything to do there... "many restaurants, bars and lounges"?!? restaurants yes... Bars? Lounges? where? point the way... please... When I lived in San Diego I had about 12 - 15 bars with in walking distance to my house. I don't even know where the closest bar is to where I live now!!! WTF!?!?!!?!?!?!!/

I have 4 words for you...

Welcome to married life.

LOL!

My point exactly though... the list is supposed to be good places for single people... If they would have said Laguna Beach (a few miles west of Irvine) I would believe them... but Irvine!?! somebody must have paid somebody to get on that list.

DING DING DING!

That is usually how these list work!

I agree with the downer on suburbs, if I am rich and single I am either living in the big city these suburbs are next to, or at a Resort Town next to the Mountains or Ocean.

I'm pretty sure if I was stuck in any of these places, I'd rent the closest studio apartment to the biggest girls dorm.

The big ones usually have the best looking friends, especially in California.

They use the big ones for shade.

I slways use Benny Hill's line:

"She was big, REAL BIG. I used to like to make her laugh. So much of her had a good time."

It looks like VTE has been spending his time in Dorchester ....
