As a Process Engineer, you will be deployed into the product delivery teams dealing with various heavy munitions development projects. You will be responsible for planning and managing process development activities within capital budgets, whilst providing solutions and processes that are robust, timely, and cost effective which meet with customer expectations.
This diverse role will provide you with the opportunity to engage with all the different engineering disciplines, as well as the chance to see the munitions products come to fruition. Your main responsibilities as a Process Engineer will involve:
Developing robust manufacturing processes, implementing industry standard controls, to ensure long term process stability, including but not limited to the following: lean principles, Process Control Plans (PCPs), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Programmable Logic Control (PLC) monitoring with built-in test and visual management systems
Coordinating development activities to establish supporting data that ensures the manufacturing processes are based on a sound understanding of the materials which are being processed and the technology adopted for the plant and equipment
Coordinating and managing a project data file capturing salient data including design and rationale, trials data, process definition including drawings and specifications, certification and safety data. This data is to be controlled through the company’s Product Lifecycle Management system, Teamcenter
Working with other engineering personnel and other functions to develop a network of capable suppliers to satisfy the business needs
Leading and supporting a number of activities including process reviews, capability studies, Safe System of Work, preparation and compilation of progress reports
Presenting to peers and customer representatives on topics relating to process status within development or production, e.g. KPIs
Assisting in the preparation of new and revised company standards to support the design and procurement of new equipment
Keeping informed and abreast of general manufacturing technology and assisting in the development of future technology plans to support the company’s mission statements
Your skills and qualifications as a Process Engineer
Essential:
HNC/ HND in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Chemical Engineering or closely related discipline (or equivalent)
A good understanding of project/risk management and the ability to use associated tools and techniques
Understanding of PLC
Competent in the use of computers including Microsoft Office
Desirable:
Experience and demonstrated knowledge of materials processing
Experience and demonstrated knowledge in manufacturing in a high hazard environment
IOSH Managing Safety / NEBOSH certificate
Green Belt Six Sigma

Salary: £32,285 + commensurate with skills and experience
