[SIZE=8pt]Your main responsibilities as a Civil Engineer:[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Providing credible civil engineering governance through assessment, advice and assurance for all maritime structures under the Naval Base Services Directorate[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Offering advice, with the ability to explain effectively and write reports containing qualified recommendations to Directors[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Conducting design and phase reviews for civil engineering and maritime assets[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Carrying out analysis and research and design activities[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Authorising civil engineering related processes, instructions and associated documents[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]Providing professional engineering support, as part of the Chief Engineer’s Department (CED), to assure engineering and Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) governance within Naval Base Services[/SIZE]

[SIZE=8pt]As a Civil Engineer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:[/SIZE]

  • [SIZE=8pt]General broad based knowledge of civil engineering and experience of its practical application[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Chartered engineer status or working towards[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]PC Literate, with good working knowledge of Microsoft packages[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Familiarity with finite element analysis would be advantageous but not essential[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Awareness of HAZID (Hazard Identification) tools, including Fault Tree Analysis[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Ideally NEBOSH trained but not essential[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Credible presentation skills at a senior level[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Understanding of BAE Systems processes and procedures[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Understanding of the Naval support environment[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Sound understanding of Partnership agreements[/SIZE]
  • [SIZE=8pt]Good interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills, with the ability to form relationships with MoD and operational customers including third party suppliers and companies[/SIZE]
