How difficult is it to say I'm sorry Snickerd my boss is out of the country on vacation, can you wait until next week when he returns for an answer.

They forgot to sample for metals and wrote in their report they were going to go back out this spring to collect them. I asked for more information like where (how big of an area) and how many, figuring they already knew since they said they were going back out. The emails have been going back and forth and he still wont take the responsiblity and answer the question. If said person was unfamilar with the project, it would be understanable, but he has been working on it for over a year.

Yeah, I get that kind of thing all the time. But then again, sometimes I do that, too. There are some projects that I simply just can't get to because I am doing like 2-3 full time jobs now. Maybe the guy is just so busy he hasn't been able to get to it yet, and he's been complaining to his boss about being short staffed all year, and his boss is off screwing around on vacation and doesn't give a ****, and so his "my boss is out of the country, can you wait until next week?" excuse is really just a passive-aggressive means of deflecting the criticism to where it really belongs - his boss. Did you ever think of that, snickerd? Hmmmm????

Just kidding. He's probably a lazy, incompetent *******, but you never know....

I've had my share of "I need this (trivial task) completed within 2 hours" emails from the same guy who takes days to respond or completely forgets important things I've asked.

He never offered that excuse, i was trying to say I would have preffered that excuse to the all sidestepping because I know it's true. It's frustrating because even at meeting when we are trying to get work done he wont commit to anything without first discussing with his boss. His boss is spending some much needed time off time in South America, and he took his cell phone with him (crazy guy even answered it).
