My first interview went like this: 

I tell receptionist I'd like to speak to Mr. Bigwig. (He's a family friend.) I enter office. 

Bigwig - Hi there Bot. I haven't seen you in years. How have you been? 

Me- I've been great. Just received my Diploma. 

Bigwig - That's good to hear.  How is your mom doing? 

Me - She's doing quite well. 

Bigwig - So what brings you here today?

Me - I'm here to hit you up for a job. 

I think my candidness caught him off guard. I started the following week. Nepotism may have opened the door but  they got their monies worth. In spades.
